As an Educator in the Science Center’s Summer Camp, you can transform a normal summer job into a personal and professional exploration of the Science Center’s Summer Science Blast Camp. The countdown starts with creative collaborations that energize amazing discoveries of shared scientific FUN! The expedition includes teaching kids how to code, examining microscopic organisms living in pond water, carbonate your own refreshing drink all while providing an engaging, safe, and unique learning experience for dozens of motivated campers.
The Saint Louis Science Center’s Summer Science Blast Camp excels in creating exciting, purposeful and unique educational experiences in which students develop collaborative scientific skills and a passion for life-long learning. This is made possible through the passion, skills and dedication of our experienced staff.
Minimum two years of college in education and/or science-based fields is required.
Practical experience in science education is required. Experience in the non-profit or informal environments is preferred. Previous camp instructional experience, First Aid certification, comfort working with students on the spectrum, and or other work with children is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: It is required that you have good physical stamina so you can be on your feet most of the day. We also ask that you can lift up to 40 pounds.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good written skills for program development. Exceptional oral skills in the facilitation of STEM programming with the ability to adapt to diverse environments, events, and audiences.
Must be available to work from May 21, 2018 to August 10th, 2018. No Exceptions.
